5 ways to style a wrap choker

Hello!

So I recently got myself a wrap choker and I am in love with it! I am in love with it for its simplicity and versatility - it pairs with everything and you can wear it SO many different ways! In view that Chinese New Year is approaching, I thought it would be fun for me to try out a few different styles so that we can explore variations to match with our different CNY outfits!

So here goes...

1. Loop & Ribbon

Method: Do 1 loop around your neck, front to back. Then bring the ends to your front and tie a loose ribbon at the front.

I would say this is more suitable if you are going for a more 'dressy' and feminine look.

Also, I would prefer to pair this style with a plain top so that the details of the ribbon would be more outstanding!

Alternatively, instead of a loose ribbon, you could also tie a ribbon that is tight against your neck. However, I personally prefer a looser ribbon because the look of the choker is more 'spread out' instead of being too 'cluttered' at your neck area!

2. Loop & Knot

Method: Do 2 loops around your neck, front to back. Then bring the ends to your front and tie a loose knot at the front.

You could choose to do 1 loop if you want the ends at the front to look longer!

I personally feel that this is a more toned down version of the ribbon one as its just a little knot in front. This will probably work better if you are going for a tougher look, i.e. with a denim jacket or just a basic spag top. I did 2 loops with this one because I didn't want the ends at the front to look too long - I wanted a 'cleaner' look.

But then again, it's all in your individual taste and preferences so it's really up to you!

3. Loop & Tie

Method: Do 1 loop around your neck, front to back. Then bring the ends to your front and make a simple tie loosely at the front.

You could choose to do 2 loops if you want the ends at the front to look shorter!

I think this look is more subtle than the previous two - it gives off a more relaxed vibe. I would say this will be suitable more for everyday usage - for days that you simply need an accessory to complement your outfit, yet you don't want to look like you are trying too hard/overdressing.

4. Loop & Let Loose

Method: Do 1 loop around your neck, front to back. Then bring the ends to your front and leave it as it is.

Again, you can do as many loops as you like to adjust the front length according to your preference.

This is one of the reasons why I love this choker. Knitted halter, Chiffon halter...these are what I consider more 'dressy' and basically, clothes that I will wear only when I feel like dressing up nicely. But T-Shirts??? I literally wear them EVERYDAY, and I am really pleased with how well the choker matches with even something as simple as a tee!!

Just wear a simple tee and throw on this choker - you will instantly change from looking like you just woke up from bed into as if you pre-planned your outfit! I love how effortlessly chic the choker makes the outfit look, and seriously, all you need to do is loop the string around your neck. You can even do this on the bus/climbing the stairs to your classrooms...everywhere! Cause you simply cannot go wrong with how it looks (unlike tying ribbon which you'll have to make sure your ribbon is not crooked or what hahaha).

I just realized this could be a dress up hack if you're always running late for classes/meetings...like me haha.

5. Loop & Loop

Method: Loop the choker around your neck, starting front to back. Do so until the ends are short enough and tie a knot behind your neck.

Tying the knot at the back would be more suitable if your hair is long enough to cover the back of your neck. Otherwise, you could always just bring the ends to your front and tie it in front too!

Yet another hack! Haha! This is like if you don't wanna spend money to buy those basic black chokers, just do this method!! See how versatile (and money-saving!) is this piece of choker.

This style would be great with tops that are slightly printed (but not overly printed/colorful kind). It adds just a small touch to the entire outfit, so that your upper body doesn't look that bare. The fact that the choker is black also helps because it won't cause a 'color clash' between the choker and whatever outfit you have!

That's all from me for the 5 different ways I style my new wrap choker.

Of course, there are many other ways to style this choker, all you need is a little bit of creativity! My mum also suggested it could be worn as a belt! Why not right!

Hope this has helped you gained a little bit more ideas on how versatile the wrap choker is! So if you're still looking for a CNY accessory, you could consider getting something similar!

xx,

Crystal
