Siam Paragon, one of the must go places to visit when you're in Bangkok. Located conveniently next to the Siam BTS Station, Siam Paragon is somewhat like the ION Orchard of Singapore, except with more yummy cafes - and even better - at cheaper prices!
Here's my recommendation for you when you're on your trip to Siam Paragon!
1. After You @ Siam Paragon

Located on the ground floor, the queue at Siam Paragon seems to be never ending. I don't kid you, there is literally a queue ALL THE TIME. To get into the queue, you'll need to get a queue number from the entrance, and wait till your number is called.
Most important things first...there are FREE stuff there!! They have complimentary water that you can help yourself to around the counter. But it's not just any water, I'm no expert in taste-testing, but the water seemed to have the light scent of flowers, which makes it exceptionally useful when you need a break from their Shibuya Toasts. It really helps, you'll find out soon.
Shibuya Honey Toast (Small) - 155 baht

Woah hold on, before you jump to the word 'small' (or maybe it was the word 'baby'-sized that they used), I can tell you it is definitely enough. Because the toast is pretty sweet - the toast is doused with honey, it's sweet; the vanilla ice cream scoop is sweet; the entire thing is really sweet. Am I a big fan of such levels of sweetness? Not really. But I would say it is worth a try especially if you have not tried After You before!
Cheddar Cheese Toast (Small) - 175 baht

I actually prefer this over the classic honey toast! The cheese shreds are really generous and they provide the right amount of 'savoury' to balance the sweetness from the toast and ice cream itself. If I were given a choice again, I would probably get this cheddar cheese toast and forgo the classic honey shibuya toast.
Two Tone Kakigori - 225 baht

I would say this is on the pricier side of around SGD$9, but I guess since it's new, we would just break our budget for once. It is made of Milo and Horlicks-doused shaved ice, topped with whipped cream of a very froth-y consistency. I actually really like the consistency of the cream and also how the two flavors are married together. You also get a small portion of chocolate to pour over your dessert if you prefer! If you're halfway through the dessert and you feel really 'geelat' and wanna give up, DON'T!!! Beneath the pile of goodness, there are horlick and milo chocolate crunchies (coupled with more milo and horlick powder lol). So remember!! Don't waste all these goodies at the bottom!! ...well, since you already paid $9 for it you might as well eat back your value right?
2. C.O.D.E Cafe of Dessert Enthusiasts

Just when you thought Thai Milk Tea only exists in cups, or salted egg yolk sauces only existed in dim sums, CODE is here to prove you wrong. With their Thai Milk Tea Lava Toast and Salted Egg Yolk Lava Toasts, they are both pleasing to the eyes and yummy to the mouth. Most importantly, they are Instagram-worthy (huehue).
The main cafe is located at The Jas Ramintra, which upon research, wasn't very accessible by public transport. However, for us lucky folks that are too lazy to go on a hunt for the main store, CODE have set up a pop-up store in Siam Paragon for some time!! It is also located on the Ground floor at Siam Paragon, and is right opposite Haagen Daz, nearer the mall entrance!
Salted Egg Yolk Lava Toast - 165 baht

Charcoal toast + Shibuya Toast + Salted Egg Yolk, everything that is in trend right now. What is there not to love?? Well, actually, there is. The toast was a little too hard, in my opinion, and the amount of salted egg yolk lava that flowed out wasn't as much as expected from the internet hype. I wouldn't conclude that they have reduced the portion, but most probably it is because of inconsistency in preparation of the toast.
But SGD$6.50 for this? Pretty worth it I would say. Well, afterall you get the Instagram shot that everyone has!
Due to tummy space limitation, we did not try the Thai Milk Tea Lava Toast, which I have read stellar reviews of it on the net. So do try it when you're there and tell me how is it !!!
3. BONCA Cookie Ice Cream

Located near Siam BTS Station Exit 2, Bonca Ice Cream offers something cute for everyone.

For 125 baht, you get 2 macaron shells with your preferred character on it, plus a generous serving of ice cream 'kiap-ed' in the middle (lol that Singaporean-ness though). They even have POKEBALL DESIGNS. omg. But unfortunately when we visited their store, that design was out of stock :(

We got the minion macaron shells and the blueberry cheesepie flavoured ice cream since we didn't want it to be too sweet. The portion was really generous, which makes it really value for money! We shared this among 3 people after lunch, and still found the portion a little too big. But whoever would say no to more for the same price?
4. Petite Audrey

Petite Audrey is located on the 4th floor in SIam Centre, which is directly beside Siam Paragon! #convenientmuch??
If you have no idea what Petite Audrey is famous for...you should! All over Instagram are their renown Thai Tea Crepe Cakes and a newer item, the Milo Volcano Crepe Cake.

Thai Tea Crepe Cake - 125 baht

Super DUPER YUMS. Not even kidding. The taste and aroma of the thai tea sauce is legitly irresistable. You have to eat this to believe it. Worth every single cent !! Especially since it's only SGD$5!! EAT!!!!
Milo Volcano Crepe Cake - 135 baht

The texture of the crepe cake is the same as the Thai Tea version - which is great! But the milo sauce was a little too sweet for my liking, coupled with the milo powder which could be a little overwhelming. But overall I really liked the texture of the cake! However, if I were to choose between the Thai Tea flavor or the Milo Volcano flavor, Thai Tea flavor please!!
Other than all these aforementioned places to eat, on the ground level of Siam Paragon, there is also a really large food bazaar-ish level, where there are lots of food stores, ranging from cafes, takeaways, to main course menus! It is somewhat similar to the aircon food court that we have inside Takashimaya!! So do check it out when you are in the Siam area!!
That's all for me for now, and I'll see you guys in my next post!
Bye!
XX,
